Still waters run deep, and his integrity runs deep, too. What you see is what you get without games or gimmicks, though he is always down for a competitive game of Connect Four. Michael Murphy was raised in upstate New York and grew up building houses with his dad, then made his way into the Air Force with hopes of seeing the world. He always had the dream to someday own a business and when he had the opportunity to shift back over to construction working in fenestration, Mountain Window & Door Steamboat Springs turned out to be the opportunity that would make this dream come true. Tasha would say he is a quiet leader – one who leads from behind and by example – and always there when you need him, willing to go the extra mile.
After serving 6 years in the Air Force working on B-1 bombers as an aero-repair specialist and learning discipline, mechanics, and technical specifications along the way, he then went into the energy industry and worked his way up from the bottom as an equipment operator in the hot Texas sun to Business Development Manager over large oil and gas accounts. When he was in the oilfield, his supervisors saw hard work and potential in him, and he found he gravitated toward managing customer relationships. He gained exposure to business development and sales, taking on key accounts and clients, expanding reach and market share while developing rapport with his customers and then going back to school to obtain an Associates in Business from the University of Phoenix. He is passionate about customer service and meeting all of Routt County’s window and door needs. In his spare time, Michael plays hockey, mountain bikes, and loves spending time with family.
Loves sunshine and laughter. A little intense when focused. Bucks when someone says she can’t do it all or have what she wants out of life – hold her Chai latte. Tasha Murphy spent her childhood growing up in Texas and skiing every winter in Steamboat from the time she was two years old. She grew up with a love for marketing, mountains, and a wonder for what makes people tick. She made a living in management consulting and then the industry side for large and medium corporations, most notably on the human side of the resources equation. Michael would say she’s the beauty and the brains behind MWD Steamboat, though she’s got a respectable amount of brawn, too.
Tasha graduated Texas A&M University Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration and then later with a Master of Science in Marketing. Her time in consulting offered her exposure across several industries including construction, and over time she gravitated into the human resources space within the energy industry. She climbed the ladder with zeal, started to raise a family, and in her spare time was traveling the world and getting to Steamboat every chance she could get. Quite simply, Steamboat Springs is her happy place.
Tasha is thrilled to continue the strong community heritage that is Mountain Window & Door Steamboat Springs, Inc. by offering their vendors and customers an unequivocal focus on quality and customer service. Each customer, supplier, architect, GC, builder (the list goes on!) is a relationship that is valued, and the team will work hard to demonstrate that commitment each and every day.

One of the sweetest goldens you’ll ever meet. Expect a gentle lick if you greet her nose-to-nose or a shameless rollover to get a nice belly rub if you have an opportunity to meet Gretta, MWD Steamboat Springs’ Office Mascot. Gretta’s life goal has only ever been to be by you. Or us. Or anyone. And she has waited her entire life to achieve this previously unobtainable and prestigious doggie career objective. Gretta is thrilled to have this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help support Mom (Tasha) and Dad (Michael) deliver great quality and excellent customer service to all Mountain Window & Door Steamboat Springs’ customers. She hopes to see you around the showroom soon!
